RULES OF THE TOWN COMMON
- No alcoholic beverages allowed
- No dogs allowed other than service animals
- Follow all posted safety signs located on playground and common areas
- Please park in parking lot areas
- No littering, please place all garbage in receptacles
- Do not play on ball fields when wet
- No bicycles and skateboards on tracks
- Tennis shoes only when playing on tennis courts
- No fireworks allowed
- Please follow all posted speed laws. (20 mph around playground area)
The Common and Mountain Maze are open from daylight until dark. (Outings can be scheduled at night with the permission of the recreation department and Town officials.)
The walking track is open and utilized at all times of the day and has lights available for those who like to exercise late at night or early in the morning. Five times around the track adds up to a little over a mile.
Navarre Pavilion is open for picnics from daylight until dark and can be scheduled for outings by contacting the department for a reservation. Evening and night outings can also be scheduled.
Restrooms are open year round and are located at the entrance to Navarre Pavilion. They are usually open from 9am until sunset.
The ball fields are open to the public from daylight until dark. All Town sponsored teams and leagues have priority over the fields during playing seasons. Permission to use the lights on the ball fields must be given by the recreation department. Please stay off the fields when they are wet or when the department is doing heavy work on them.
The tennis courts are open from daylight until 11pm. (All lights must be off by 11pm) The courts have a one hour limit on time if people are waiting to play. One court is used as a teaching court, signs will be posted and you might be asked to vacate the teaching court if it is needed for a lesson.
In addition to the Common facilities, the citizens of the Town have access to the Lookout Mountain School Gym and skating rink. These areas are supervised by a community center board and can be accessed by paying an annual fee of $50. Once you have paid your fee, you can check out a key at the Police department and use the facilities after school and program hours. Community center rules and regulations are posted at the school gym and skating rink entrance. Please call the recreation department for specific information and scheduling.
