SEPTEMBER MEETING
1. Call to Order – Declaration of Quorum
2. Pledge of Allegiance and Invocation
3. Approval of Minutes of meeting on August 12, 2008
4. Swearing in of newly elected Town Commissioners and School Directors
(Town Attorney)
5. Election by the newly elected Commissioners of the following officers:
Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem, Treasurer, Town Clerk. (The Treasurer and the Town Clerk may be the same person, but need not be.)
6. Appointment by the Mayor of the Commissioner to head the following departments: Fire and Police, Education, Public Works, Parks and Playgrounds
7. Selection of the Board of Commissioners of Attorney for the Town.
8. Appointment by the Commissioners of Town Marshall, Plumbing and Building Inspector, and Chief of Fire and Police (generally the Chief performs all these functions).
9. Appointment of Tax Collector and Assistant Treasurer (Presently Pat Fricks)
10. Swearing in of Town Marshall, Plumbing and Building Inspector, Chief of Fire and Police and Tax Collector. (Town Attorney)
11. Adoption of an ordinance fixing the penalty of the bonds of the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, Chief of Police, Town Marshall, Building Inspector and Tax Collector ($50,000 on the Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer and $15,000 on the remainder, including the Mayor and all Commissioners – unless these amounts are raised.)
12. Resolution appropriating money for payment of election expenses.
13. Resolution designating any bank or trust qualified to receive Municipal Funds in the State of Tennessee as depositories for town funds. Presently authorized – all in area.
